GOLD STARS ALL THE WAY FOR HUBBLE MARMALADES
For the second year running hubble PRESERVES won a prestigious accolade at the ninth annual World’s Original Marmalade Awards. This year Sue Hubble, founder of Hubble Preserves, received not one but two Golds for her Mighty Marmalade and Mighty Fine Marmalade at a ceremony on 1st March at Dalemain Mansion in the Lake District.
More than 2,000 entries, from as far afield as Australia, the Philippines, South Africa, Japan and South Korea, were sent by both artisan producers and amateur makers to the organisers of the awards.
Sue Hubble said, “I am so happy to receive a Gold Award for both of my marmalades. Especially as the person from the Awards who phoned to give me the news said it was the most demanding of the categories and the judging was very critical. I had adjusted the recipe and method slightly this year; I knew it was my best ever and that I could not make better. ”
Only 11 Golds were awarded to artisan producers in the Seville Orange Marmalade section and hubble PRESERVES won two of them.
Marmalade’s popularity abroad and in the UK will be heightened with the release of the new Paddington Bear movie later this year so best you stock up early!
